Day 1 : DELHI/KOLKATA - JORHAT :
Meet a representative at Jorhat airport and Check in to your hotel. Evening at leisure. Have a sumptuous Dinner, you have options to choose from Assamese cuisines like Khar (a delicacy), Maasor tenga (fish), Aloo Pitka, etc.O/N Hotel
Day 2 : JORHAT – MOKOKCHUNG (104KMS/5HRS):
After breakfast drive towards Mokokchung. On arrival, check in to your hotel. Have lunch and explore Mokokchung town, visit nearby villages like Mokokchung, Chuchuyimpang, etc. Later return to your hotel, have dinner today’s *speciality Amro sow, a traditional Ao naga dish. Retire for the evening.O/N Homestay/Hotel
DAY 3 : MOKOKCHUNG :
Early breakfast, try some locally made cookies. Later visit mopungchuket and Impur, the mission centre of the Ao Baptist Arogo. Have lunch at Mopungchuket *speciality Anishi sow (curry). Post lunch drive back to Ungma village, Chungtia and Aliba villages, where you shall get to see traditional houses, morungs, log drums. Later return and have dinner at your hotel premises.O/N Homestay/Hotel
DAY 4 : MOKOKCHUNG – AIZUTO (2hrs) :
Today after breakfast we shall drive to Aizuto, a small but a popular village falling under Zunheboto district of Nagaland and also the homeland of the Sumi tribe. On reaching, check in to your homestay and have lunch. Today’s speciality is sumi’s smoked pork with Axone (fermented soya bean). Post lunch, Explore the village, you may also trek to nearby villages/ you may explore the Aizuto lake, a scenic natural lake, enjoy boating sightseeing. Return to your homestay and have dinner. Post lunch you may go visit some village folks and chat with them or retire for the night.O/N Homestay
DAY 5 : AIZUTO – WOKHA (4hrs) :
After breakfast drive to wokha, land of the Lotha Nagas. On reaching Wokha check in to your hotel and have lunch. The Lotha’s speciality is pork with dried bamboo shoot, Brinjal with dry fish pickle. Post lunch visit some Lotha villages and learn about their cultures and traditions, the villages way of life, see the local blacksmiths at work, etc.O/N Homestay
DAY 6 : WOKHA – TESOPHENYU (1HR) :
After breakfast we shall drive to Tesophenyu village, a Rengma Naga village. Enroute we shall visit Chunlikha village. Proceed on to Tesophenyu, on reaching have lunch, today’s speciality is Apana (Gravy) , it is prepared with boiled yam and green vegetables, tastes best along with pork meat. Post lunch explore the village areas, visit a local house, meet an old man and learn about the cultures and traditions of the Rengma Nagas. You also have the option to hike which takes for about an hour only. Later return to your homestay and have dinner and retire for the evening.O/N Homestay
DAY 7 : TESOPHENYU – KOHIMA (2 HRS) :
After breakfast go around the village area, explore more of the village and later return to your homestay for lunch, today’s speciality is Akashi curry a popular Rengma dish, the ingredients used are perilla seed, naga dal and local spices. Post lunch we shall head towards Kohima, the capital city of Nagaland. Enroute visit Touphema tourist village, have a cup of tea and proceed further on to Kohima. On reaching, check in to your hotel, have dinner and call it a day.O/N Hotel/Homestay
DAY 8 : KOHIMA :
Today after breakfast, explore the town and local markets, visit souvenir shops and places of importance like 2nd World War Cemetery, Cathedral and State Museum. Have lunch either from your Hotel Premises or you can visit a local restaurant where varieties of local cuisines are available. Post lunch drive towards Kewhikhe, visit a local house and interact with the villagers and learn about the cultures of the Angamis . Have Dinner, *speciality Muodi (beef/pork) the most popular of Angami dishes.O/N Hotel/Homestay
Day 9 : KOHIMA – SARANAMAI (2 ½ hrs) :
Breakfast the Angami way. You may choose from the following items; puffed sticky rice, sticky rice cake, sticky rice bread, etc. Post breakfast drive to Saranamai village of the Poumai Naga tribe in Manipur. We shall explore this old village and learn about the culture and the traditions which are still in practice. We shall also participate in traditional fishing and have local lunch/picnic lunch.O/N Saranamai Homestay.
DAY 10 : SARANAMAI
This Morning, we shall meet the Chief of the village and also witness some traditional games. Later we shall drive to one of the sibling of Saranmai village and have picnic lunch.Overnight Homestay.
DAY 11 : SARANAMAI - MARAMKHULLEN (1hr,40mins/34.5km):
Today, we shall drive to Maramkhullen village which still has got good numbers of traditional houses standing. Enroute have a brief stop at Maram bazaar, you may take the option of walking to the village when we drive closer to the village, you are walking/hiking through forest and vegetable garden. We participate with our host in preparing dinner.Overnight Homestay
DAY 12 : MARAMKHULLEN- WILLONG (30mins/12kms)
Today we shall leisurely drive to Wuilong village, on arrival we shall explore the village, visit the megalithic area where a large number of monoliths is erected, legend says none can correctly count the stone! Depending on the season we shall go fishing and have picnic lunch by the river site.Overnight Homestay
DAY 13 : WUILONG – BENREU (4hrs/137kms)
Today we shall drive towards Benreu village a Zeliang Naga tribe, enroute visit Zuimi village, lunch in Peren. Continue driving, next stop at Peletkie village where you will get traditionally produced salt. Evening we shall have a sip of local beer make from sticky rice.Overnight Homestay
DAY 14 :- BENREU
Today we shall start our day by exploring the village, visiting morung, trophies of animal hunters, etc. Later we go hiking and picnic lunch.
Evening we cook dinner with the locals, evening bon-fire.Overnight Homestay.
Day 15 :- BENREU – KHONOMA (5hrs,20mins/138kms) :
After breakfast drive to Khonoma. Enroute visit Dzuleke which is a small village reserved by Nature, located in a beautiful hill slope. Enjoy the beauty of Nature throughout the journey, the road leading is a rough page and challenging making the journey a bit more adventurous. On reaching Khonoma check in your homestay and have a little late lunch. *Speciality Galho, which is a Rice and green leafy vegetable porridge. Post lunch explore the village, Nature walk to the Khonoma Nature Conservation and Tragopan Sanctuary, enroute visit the Alder tree plantation- which is a very unique way of cultivation and preservation of Nature in unison. Later return to your homestay, have Dinner. After dinner visit some local houses and have a chat, enjoy a cup of locally made Rice beer *Zutho.O/N Homestay
Day 16 :- KHONOMA - DIMAPUR (2hrs,45mins/72kms)
Today, we shall leisurely drive back to Dimapur to connect for onward journey.
